Kreddo is paid by some lenders; this does not affect the ranking. Names and logos belong to their respective companies and are used here to identify whose product is compared.

Short answer

Cheapest personal loan right now: Advisa and Enklare advertise 4.50% nominal, but the starting rate goes only to applicants with strong finances — the rate you actually get is set individually. So apply widely: a broker such as Sambla, Lendo or Advisa sends your application to up to 40 banks on a single credit check and lets them compete for you, instead of you approaching one bank at a time.

What you should actually compare is the effective rate and the total amount repaid. A loan of SEK 150,000 over five years costs between roughly SEK 20,000 and SEK 103,000 in interest depending on the lender — same loan, same amount.

Since 1 January 2026 there is also no interest deduction on unsecured loans, which widens the gap further.

Advertising disclosure: Kreddo is a comparison service funded by commission from lenders. Links marked “Go to…” are affiliate links. That payment does not affect the ranking — the order is set by our openly published calculation model. We also list lenders we have no agreement with.

Borrowing money costs money

The rate you are offered is set individually after a credit assessment and may differ from the figures above. Always check that you could still manage the monthly payment if rates rose or your income fell. If you are struggling to pay: contact the lender directly and get free help from your municipality’s budget and debt adviser via Hallå konsument.

How to do it

From comparison to money in your account

Four steps, about ten minutes of actual work, and a single credit check.

Set the amount and term

Borrow only what you need and pick the shortest term your budget allows. Every extra year costs interest, even though the monthly figure looks friendlier.

Apply through a broker

One application reaches up to 40 banks but produces only one credit check. Applying to each bank directly gives you one check per bank, which lowers your credit rating.

Compare the offers on effective rate

You normally get answers within minutes to a day. Look at the effective rate and the total repaid — not the monthly cost, which can be massaged with a longer term.

Sign with BankID

Read the SEKKI sheet, sign with BankID and receive the money the same or next banking day. You have 14 days to withdraw if you change your mind.

Method and independence

How we rank — and how we make money

We publish the whole model. If you cannot reproduce our ranking from the figures on this page, that is an error we want to hear about.

The scoring model

Each lender gets a score from 0–10 made up of four parts, recalculated every time you change a filter:

Cost — effective rate for your amount and term55 %
Trust — customer ratings, FI licence, years on the market18 %
Availability — income requirement, credit notes, age range15 %
Flexibility — amount and term ranges, fees, payout time12 %

Provisionens size is not part of the model and is not available to the editorial team when the score is set.

How the effective rate is calculated

We do not use the lender’s advertised figure. Instead we solve the effective rate numerically from the actual payment flows for your amount and your term:

K = Σ (annuity + invoice fee)t ÷ (1 + x)t/12
+ arrangement fee in period 1

We solve for x by bisection to twelve decimal places. This is the same definition used by the Swedish Consumer Credit Act and the EU Consumer Credit Directive, which makes the figures comparable across every lender — even when one hides the cost in an invoice fee.

Where the figures come from

The lenders’ own published price lists and SEKKI sheets, Finansinspektionen’s company register and Riksbanken’s statistics. Every figure is checked at least monthly and always when a change of terms becomes known.

What we do not do

We do not sell placements, do not charge for favourable reviews and do not list lenders without a licence from Finansinspektionen. Nor do we give individual financial advice.
